Which Is BETTER, then or now??

PART-1

Recently,I got oppurtunity to stay in one of the luxurious flats at Kochi for a day with one of my TCS friends. He stays there with some of his colleagues sharing the rent and was kind enough to offer me a stay during my visit to kochi for an interview. Many such huge flats are set up there mainly based on the developments taking place by the arrival of Kakkanad INFO PARK...

I was a permanent resident of ernakulam 10 years back ,when my father worked there and stayed there for almost 4 years. Its hard to believe its the same place I left 10 years back!!!!!...Changes are unbelievable, felt that the whole place has adopted a new culture and life style....
(omg, the current  has gone and laptop charge is gettn empty...hope i can continue later)
Its almost the same everywhere, the transformation to a new system and culture has taken place in the last 6 0r 7 years. Its almost complete in such big cities like kochi and others on the way to it.
I have heard a lot about this flat life and had many myths about it since  i haven't experienced it before. The prominent one was about the security offered by it.With lot of families living together , help for everything at the door step ,at a call. :P....I was shocked to see the  way they have constructed
it. Though the flats numbered A 1 B2 etc  of a single floor opens to the same pavement, inside it  contact with any of the neighbors is never possible. Though they intended to provide privacy, i felt like a mini jail inside.  Each of the windows  opens either to wall of the next flat or else to open sky.
I just though about the old life style in single homes which transformed into this vertical crowded  one. During those days a loud call was enough for a help from neighbourhood at least 100 metres away. And now, its hard to see a human being from here!!!!.It was more interesting for me to know, none of my friends don't  know who leaves in the flat very next to their's. Though they have been there for almost 10 months.

So that's todays life .People whether its male or female are educated , graduation has become a minimum qualification and moreover too much engineering colleges!!!!.Students whether they r interested or not join for engineering ,either here or some other states.Learning engineering has become an issue of prestige of the parents.Adding to the agony, professional  education has become a business and so merit or academic brilliance is not at all a  matter of importance. Money earns you any qualification. No money? ,,then also u can , coz banks are all around u with education loans. And as a result there r too much  engineerng graduates. Its said that in ou little state Kerala itself about 50, 000 students join for engineering and half of them come succesfull. Actually employment oppurtunities in the core sector is almost the same always and its occupied by the top 10% students .A nd the remaining, which ever trade they learned  ends up in the software field. Also i feels that women r more interested in it, since it offers a huge salary for a job involving less physical effort , though the mental strain is too much...also   various other fields where the youth  themselves find comfortabe include fashion designing, marketing, hotel management, real estate ,anchoring, modelling and lot many.Whether its men or woman they earns a lot and so they need to celebrate the life.
Earlier people needed a job to earn enough to support a family, but nuv what  they need is a colourful life.Earn more and enjoy more.
And now wt we need to consider is its  impact on the "Security of family life..."..that once we were proud about..Westerners when they say they r rich and cultured, our response for that was our secured family relationships which inturned meant a lot morality in our society.Saddest thing which i feels is  that ,we r nuv in a rush to collect wat the westerners have spitted out..
